O wykładzie:

Lying where the Mediterranean and Central European worlds met, the medieval Croatian lands – the Kingdoms of Croatia, Dalmatia and Slavonia, together with Istria, which lay outside them – were themselves a world of many worlds. From early medieval queens and the abbesses of the powerful Madii family of Zadar to noble, patrician, merchant and artisan wives and widows, the lecture traces how the position of women differed according to both region and social rank. Drawing on charters, epitaphs, town statutes, notarial records and wills, it presents medieval Croatian women as landholders, businesswomen, mothers and guardians, founders and patrons – often more independent than the norms of their time would lead us to expect.

Serdecznie zapraszamy wszystkich zainteresowanych.
