Dr. Jia Lu, PhD z Valdosta State Univeristy podczas kolejnego ""Piątku na Historycznym"
Już dzisiaj zapraszamy na kolejne spotkanie z cyklu "Piątek na Historycznym", podczas którego będziemy gościć Dr. Jia Lu, Ph.D., Professor of Geography and Urban Planning z Valdosta State Univeristy, która wygłosi wykład "China in Six Generations: Geography, History, and Everyday Survival".
Spotkanie zaplanowane jest na 22 maja o godz. 11.30, a poprowadzi je prof. dr hab. Anna Mazurkiewicz.
This public talk explores China’s modern history and geography through the lived experiences of one family across six generations, spanning the late imperial period to the present. Combining maps, photographs, and personal narratives, the presentation examines how large-scale political movements, economic transformations, and shifting policies shaped everyday life—where people could live, work, and move. From education and social mobility to displacement, hardship, and resilience, these stories illuminate how geography and history intersect in ordinary lives. Rather than a textbook overview, the talk offers a human-centered perspective on survival, adaptation, and perseverance across changing political and social landscapes. Open to all, with time for discussion.
